Sovereign Health of Pompano Beach, Florida
Pompano Beach, Florida, is located in Broward County and lies adjacent to the Atlantic coast just to the north of Fort Lauderdale. This city is home to over 100,000 people and is sunny and warm all year, making this a popular tourist and vacation spot. This 25-square-mile city has a surplus of beaches, entertainment and green space for everyone from every walk of life to enjoy. Sovereign Health hosts two treatment locations in Florida, one located in Pompano Beach.
The Pompano Beach, Florida, location focuses on treating substance abuse and dual diagnosis for males and females ages 18 and older. Substance abuse is rampant in the United States, and thousands of lives are lost each year to addiction. Whether it is alcohol, cocaine, benzodiazepines or opioids, treating substance abuse is a very intricate process and usually requires trained professionals.
Often an individual will be admitted for substance abuse only to discover that the addiction was triggered by an underlying mental illness. For example, a person may be addicted to prescription opioids, but this overuse of painkillers might be fueled by depression. Once the drug is cleared from the body, the signs and symptoms of a mental illness are discovered and treated. Dual diagnosis is when an individual has a substance abuse problem as well as a co-occurring mental illness.
Sovereign Health of Pompano Beach offers substance abuse and dual diagnosis treatment programs. The average length of stay is 30 to 90 days, and patients live in a facility that accommodates 46 patients. Males and females have separate living quarters, and meals are included. Patients are expected to clean and take care of their own living spaces.
Evidence-based individualized treatment
Sovereign Health prides itself on employing evidence-based treatments, meaning that treatment approaches are based on scientific and medical evidence. Sovereign also provides the highest level of care. One of the leading rehab centers in Florida, Sovereign Health of Pompano Beach provides a thorough medical and psychosocial assessment upon admission in order to get a baseline of each individual. Treatment is focused on the individual rather than a set of standardized treatment approaches. Depending on the individual and his or her needs, treatment approaches include but are not limited to yoga, cognitive behavioral therapy, meditation, art therapy, anger management, expressive writing and process group therapy.
Treatment for any type of mental illness or addiction should never be the same for each individual, because everyone is unique and processes things differently. One person may find peace and healing through writing, while another individual may only improve through cognitive behavioral therapy. Regardless of what works best for each person, Sovereign Health will find the treatment most suitable to individual needs.
Levels of care
Depending on the extent of the addiction, individuals are placed in different levels of care, ranging from acute care to outpatient therapy. Just like a medical condition, addiction sometimes requires hospitalization or can be treated with outpatient individualized sessions on a weekly basis.
Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a combination between inpatient and outpatient care and can be used to treat patients who do not require around-the-clock monitoring, but still need more care than in an outpatient facility.
Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is the least intense treatment program and allows patients to be treated on an outpatient level. It is similar to being treated for a chronic medical condition by a primary care physician on a checkup basis. Outpatient (OP) is similar to IOP, but outpatient requires less hours of treatment on a weekly basis.
Evening IOP is a new level of care offered at Sovereign Health for those individuals who work full-time during the week but can benefit from evening therapy sessions. These sessions are offered in the evening for individuals who do not meet inpatient criteria. This program is recommended for individuals who have already undergone intensive or inpatient treatment and are ready to transition to an outpatient approach.
Sovereign Health of Pompano Beach offers four levels of care: PHP, IOP, OP and evening OP. We accept most private insurances. We would love to hear from you.
