Seven Ponds Referrals & Renewal is a state of the art nature based renewal center located in Bennington, Oklahoma.
The Seven Ponds Spiritual Retreat is set just north of the Red River on the famous Trail of Tears. This unique area, often referred to as Texoma, offers a wealth of wilderness experiences and spiritual habitats.
Your commitment at Seven Ponds Spiritual Retreat is entirely up to you. We have programs that last just a few days or programs that last several months.
The primary purpose of our Wilderness programming centers on the power of nature in impacting behavioral change and critical thinking. At times referred to as Eco-therapy, Harvard biologist Edward Wilson simply states “ecosystems, nature, can put us back together, make us feel whole”. He’s right. We’ve been taking participants into the wild for years to initiate change in their physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual platforms that form the core of their respective self- defeating thinking and subsequent behaviors. Led by a former Army Ranger and professional wilderness guides, participants’ experience 10 to 20 days of daily activities designed to refocus their value system and self- perception.
Wilderness activities always begin on our refurbished 100 year old ranch located in between the Red and Blue Rivers on the Oklahoma / Texas border, often referred to as Texoma. The program enrolls 6-8 participants who have been accepted by referrals and appropriateness for the wilderness setting. The program is taxing both physically and mentally.
In the IMAGES program clients are afforded profound opportunities to go beyond the typical standards of residential treatment models. They dig deeper, more personally into the psychological imagery that creates the pain associated with their respective condition. When clients are able to redefine those images and glean out the true essence of how they have grown and learned and actually benefitted from their painful experiences, the images begin to turn positive and bring new, sustaining power to their self- image.
This is the power of the NOW. The new self- image is supported by letting go of the past, not re- living it or re-claiming it in anyway. But continuing to use it as a tool to grow and understand and most of all change and self-actualize.
The Intervention Program is a first time offering designed for individuals who are facing enormous pressure from friends, family, coworkers and other forces to something!!! In an attempt to offer those facing a very important and perhaps life changing decision as to whether or not to enter treatment, Seven Ponds is offering this ten day self-intervention program for less than $2000.
IDYLLIC is a first time offering designed for individuals who are facing enormous pressure from friends, family, coworkers and other forces to “do something”!!! In an attempt to offer those facing a very important and perhaps life changing decision as to whether or not to enter treatment, Seven Ponds is offering this ten day self-intervention program for less than $2000. All the resources will be available for participants to receive unbiased opinions from trained professionals and para professionals, and to experience unique activities to quiet the chattering mind and make their own decision. Our library, video collection, meditation center, gym, kayaking equipment, and mountain bike trails will be available during the entire ten day period. Accommodations will include a choice of semi-private room, private cabin or sleeping under the stars. Community kitchens will allow for individual or group meals.
It has been our experience over the years that individuals who are “forced” into treatment have far less success in maintaining their sobriety and recovery based life style as they bear the scars of an admission conflict. A recent California study found during exit interviews of 1100 residential clients that 71% of the graduates found the program they just completed was NOT a fit for them. In the same study, 82% of the clients said that being forced into treatment was traumatic and caused them to shut down through most of their residency. Idyllic is being developed to prevent these unnecessary conflicts by limiting the time of introduction and decision to ten days, limiting the actual out of pocket costs, and most importantly, assisting the prospective new client in becoming a true stake holder in the actual decision.
The Narrow Gate is designed to help those who have not found relief from their personal drama through contemporary counseling and therapy or self -help, 12 step programming. Quite simply, Narrow Gate is a spiritual directive that examines exterior events that have occurred in an individual’s life field, in concert with simultaneous occurrences in the mind, the imagination, the memory, the will, and above all in the spirit. Through spiritual direction and pastoral teaching, participants will be assisted in finding the transcendent reality, that layer of the mind that aspires not only to learn about what many call the “Mystery”, but to experience the possibility of the presence of GOD in the events and accounts of their life.
Through open, confidential discussions that are coordinated with reading, journaling, meditation, prayer, self- examination and reflection, Narrow Gate participants will be able to understand and access an inventory of the powers and vulnerabilities that make them who they truly are. To fully examine this inventory will require commitment and direction and will.
Narrow Gate is a powerful open ended program of compassion that actually has no religious component, other than to study and compare various historical events that are tied to a particular group. Participants will find the answer they seek not by focusing their consciousness on what they can rationally understand or logically communicate, but by being silent and receptive to the touch of an invisible presence.
